Women Entrepreneurship Training

158 female students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) participated a 3-day Entrepreneurship Training under ‘Empowered Women, Peaceful Communities’ project with support from UN Women, Bangladesh. The trainings were conducted at BRAC Learning Centre (BLC), Mymensingh by Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University during the month of November and December 2018.

Award Giving Ceremony

All the 158 students who completed the training were presented with certificates. Along with them best two business ideas of the bunch (two teams, named: Ami Paari and Bather Dan) was awarded “Seed Fund” to work for their business ideas on the 19th February, 2019.

Capacity Development Training

Along with mentors of the Women Peace Café, JKKNIU seed fund winning teams attended the National Colloquium on “Empowering Young Women” organised by CPJ, BRAC University on 30th March, 2019 and received certificate of competition of the 3-day long Capacity Development Training.

Training on Peace, Gender and Leadership

The executive committee members and volunteers of WPC JKKNIU received a 3-day training on “Peace, Gender and Leadership”. Total 26 participants joined the training. The training was organized by CPJ, Brac University at ASPADA Trishal from 29 November to 01 December, 2019. This training gave a clear concept to all for the official management, organization, documentation, peace, gender and leadership.

Roundtable on “Young Women as Leaders and Peace Builders”

Planning Meeting with Women Peace Café Member and faculty was held on 4 September 2019 at Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University. Women peace café faculties and president-secretary from both Universities joined this meeting.

On this day before joining the planning meeting, women peace café member participated roundtable on “Young Women as Leaders and Peacebuilders: A strategy for the joint implementation of the Women, Peace and Security and Youth, Peace and Security Resolutions” at BRAC Centre Inn.

Leadership in the time of COVID-19 Crisis

Women Peace Café initiated material support to the vulnerable community women during COVID-19.
