Seminar on ‘Depression and Reproductive Health’

Women Peace Café, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University organized seminar on “Depression and Reproductive Health” for university students on 17th September 2019 at Conference Room, JKKNIU. 38 participants from various departments of the university attended the seminar.

Celebration of International Day for Tolerance

Women Peace Café, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) and INLEPT jointly organised a tolerance adda at JKKNIU campus. They celebrated the international day for tolerance on 16 November 2019. Centre for Peace and Justice provided technical support for this programme.

International Peace Day Celebration

Women Peace Café, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University has celebrated International Peace Day on 21st September 2019 at JKKNIU campus in partnership with Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University under the “Empowered Women Peaceful Communities” project.

Activities include:

– Peace rally in the campus
– Essay competition on Women Peace and Security Issues
– Photography Competition
– Peace adda with selected women Peace cafe members and mentors

Photography Contest and Exhibition on Peaceful and Inclusive Society

Women Peace Café, JKKNIU and Film & Photography Club JKKNIU jointly organized an online photography contest on Peaceful and Inclusive Society on 18-24 November 2019.  More than 300 photos have been received from 27 photographers and among them 24 selected photographs were exhibited on launching ceremony.

Drawing Competition on Women in Peace & Social Cohesion

On the occasion of Women Peace Café Launching Ceremony, the Peace Café members organized Drawing Competition on Women in Peace & Social Cohesion on 27-28 November 2019 at WPC Office, JKKNIU. 25 students of JKKNIU joined the drawing contest. Selected drawings were exhibited during launching ceremony.

Cultural Events

On the occasion of the formal launching ceremony, WPC members performed a dance with a country song Pratul Mukhopadhyay titled Ami Banglay Gaan Gai. WPC members also performed a ramp reflecting the multiple roles of women in society.

Anti-Raging Campaign

Women Peace Café organized Anti raging Campaign at JKKNIU Campus on 9th February 2020. The campaign Condemns ragging at the university they disseminated the press release and increased awareness among the students.

Tree plantation

As WPC JKKNIU started working on to their mission for increasing the awareness and peace building at university campus; they have planted some trees at the campus premises at July 10, 2019.

Essay Competition

Women Peace Café JKKNIU organised an Essay Competition on ‘Women in Peace Building’ among the students of JKKNIU where WPC mentors were the judge. The winners are announced and awarded in the International Women’s Day 2020.

Campaign on Importance of female reproductive health care and Distributing Sanitary Napkin

Women Peace Café Members run a campaign on women reproductive health care and distributed sanitary napkin at Women Hall and messes on whole September and October 2019

Online Write up competition

Women Peace Café organized online Write Up competition on Health and Mental Care of Women during COVID-19 on April 30, 2020. The best three writers of this competition were awarded by the mentors.

Awareness raising campaign of COVID-19 through Token of Love

Women Peace Café provided hygiene products like soap and mask with COVID-19 awareness message to the vulnerable community women on April 7, 2020. There were more than 50 women benefitted from this support at the several villages of Netrakona.

Online Live Show about How to Be Productive in Lockdown

Women Peace Café organized a Facebook live show with Sadia Sultana who is a social activist and founder of Hilsa on April 14, 2020. The live show was streamed on the official Facebook page of WPC JKKNIU. It was specially meant for students who were suffering from not being able to be productive in the pandemic. She also talked about the career plan related concern.
